Surgery Overview

When a dog‘s testicles remain deeply located in the inguinal area near sensitive nerves, it’s crucial to seek a highly experienced veterinarian with precise surgical skills.

In male puppies, testicles should descend into the scrotum by six months of age. If they don’t, it‘s unlikely they ever will.

This condition, called cryptorchidism, can lead to severe health risks, including the potential for testicular cancer or torsion—both of which can be life-threatening. To protect your pet’s health, it‘s recommended to have the retained testicles removed while the pet is young.

At Lee Animal Hospital, Dr. Lee successfully performed double cryptorchid surgery on a French Bulldog by locating and removing the retained testicles through a small abdominal incision with precision and care.
