Surgery Overview
When Growlithe started limping on her left hind leg, her owner brought her in right away for an exam. At 8 years old, Growlithe was showing signs of discomfort, and radiographs revealed cranial subluxation of the stifle joint along with joint effusion—both consistent with a cranial cruciate ligament (CCL) tear, a common cause of lameness in dogs.
To restore stability and reduce pain, we performed a TPLO (Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy) surgery, which realigns the knee to allow better healing and function without the damaged ligament.
We’re happy to report the surgery went smoothly, and Growlithe is now recovering well with lots of rest, love, and gentle care. We’re so proud of this brave girl and excited to see her back to walking comfortably again soon!
