Cosmo, a 4-year-old male Domestic Shorthair, was brought to the ER over the weekend due to a severe urinary blockage — a common but serious issue in male cats.
His owner brought him to our hospital for a surgical consultation, and after a thorough examination, we determined that Cosmo needed a Perineal Urethrostomy(PU). This delicate procedure widens the urethral opening to help cats with chronic urinary blockages urinate more comfortably and reduce the risk of future obstructions.
Since it was an urgent case, our team performed the surgery the same day. Everything went smoothly, and Cosmo is now in recovery, healing beautifully with lots of love and care.
