Fracture Repair – American Shorthair Cat

Fracture Repair – American Shorthair Cat

This little kitty had been missing outdoors for about two weeks, and when he came back, something didn’t seem right. He was limping and did not want to move much.

The owner was not sure what had happened, so they monitored him at home for a bit before bringing him to another hospital. X-rays were taken there, and amputation was recommended. However, the owner was not comfortable with this option and decided to bring him to our hospital for a second opinion.

Considering the cat’s future quality of life, we decided that fracture repair surgery was the best option rather than amputation.

Because the fracture was not recent, the surgery was more challenging and required extra care and precision. Despite the complexity, the procedure was completed successfully.

We’re happy to share that he has healed well and is now recovering beautifully
