Luxating Patella & TPLO – Louie

Louie’s Successful TPLO & Patellar Luxation Surgery

Louie, a 9-year-old Chihuahua mix, came to our hospital because he was limping on his back right leg. He previously had a TPLO surgery on his left leg, and radiographs showed that his right knee also needed TPLO and Medial Patellar Luxation (MPL) correction.

TPLO (Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy) helps stabilize the knee after a cruciate ligament tear, allowing dogs to walk comfortably again.

Patellar Luxation correction realigns the kneecap to prevent it from slipping out of place and causing pain or lameness.

Our team performed both procedures successfully, and Louie is now recovering comfortably. We’re so proud of this little guy’s bravery and wish him a smooth and speedy recovery!
