Surgery Overview
Playtime turned into a challenge for Riri, our sweet 7-year-old Beagle mix.
In the middle of running outside, she suddenly began limping on her back right leg. This had happened before and usually resolved by the next day—but this time, she couldn’t put any weight on it and even had trouble getting comfortable enough to go to the restroom. An X-ray revealed the cause: a cranial cruciate ligament tear along with medial patella luxation. Without surgery, she would have continued to experience pain and difficulty walking. To give her the best chance at regaining full mobility, Riri underwent MPL correction and TPLO surgery on her right leg. Her surgery went smoothly, and now she’s on her way to a full recovery.
We’re so proud of her bravery and can’t wait to see her back to running happily again!
