Surgery Overview

Strong and gentle Maggie Lee, our 13-year-old Miniature American Shepherd, had been having a tough time getting up and moving around. Her hips and knees were stiff, with some crackling in the joints that made every step a challenge.

Her symptoms had her loving owners deeply concerned, unsure how to ease her discomfort. After a thorough exam, Dr. Lee recommended a Femoral Head Ostectomy (FHO)—a surgery that removes the ball of the hip joint to relieve pain and improve mobility.

The procedure went smoothly and Maggie handled it like a champ! She’s on the road to recovery, one careful step at a time.

Here’s to brighter, more comfortable days ahead for our sweet Maggie Lee!
