Meet this handsome 7-year-old Akita!
His owner brought him in for a TPLO consultation after he started limping for about 3 weeks following a fun chase after delivery trucks. His previous veterinarian prescribed medication, but unfortunately, it didn’t provide much improvement.
After performing radiographs, we discovered that his right hind leg had a torn cranial cruciate ligament (CCL) along with a luxating patella (MPL) on the same leg.
Surgery was the best option to help him return to a comfortable, active life, so we performed a TPLO and MPL repair. The procedure was a success!
Now, he is pain-free, moving comfortably, and back to running like his happy self again.
